On Friday 10th November, we went to the church to hold a memorial service for Remembrance Day. Alongside Reverend Richard, we had a time of prayer and reflection. We listened to the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ which was read by one of the pupils. We then listened to a reading and held poppies in our hands as we reflected on what was being said. We then walked down to the war memorial where we placed our crosses.

Making Sandwiches
The children in Hedgehogs have been reading the text ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. They have been making sandwiches in preparation for writing instruction texts. They had great fun and said the sandwiches were delicious!
Cake Making
One of our parents (a trained chef!) kindly came into school to bake cupcakes with the children. The children all worked together to add and bind the ingredients, before they cooled and iced their cakes. They worked together as a team and sold their individual cakes at the Reading Cafe.
Pumpkin Picking 2023
The children in Hoglets and Hedgehogs Class enjoyed a visit to Algy’s Farmshop where they got to pick their own pumpkins. Despite it being very muddy, we all had a great time!
Diva Lamps
The children in Hoglets and Hedgehogs Class have been learning about the festival of Diwali in their RE lessons. They read the story of Rama and Sita and learnt about the significance of diva lamps. The children then made their own diva lamps from clay, before painting and glossing them. We then put tea lights inside of our diva lamps and lit them.
Morston Quay Visit
We visited Morston Quay to paint seascapes in line with our topic ‘Water & Colours’. We focused on painting the landscape with water colours, considering the natural colours of the quay and marshes before heading out for a walk in the fresh air!
